What makes an AI UGC video prompt read as real
Creator footage is a little imperfect, and a video model only makes it that way if the prompt asks. Every card below carries the same four cues:
- A phone frame: 9:16, handheld, a slight sway, framing that isn't quite centred.
- Ordinary light and rooms: daylight from a window, a kitchen, a bathroom, a bus.
- A hook in the first two seconds: a movement, a sound or the first words.
- One spoken line in quotes, short enough to say inside the clip.
Write the script before the prompt: our UGC ad script generator turns a product, a benefit and an offer into a shot-by-shot script, and each shot becomes one card like the ones below.
Leave captions for the edit, because video models draw text poorly. When you add them, keep captions clear of the app's buttons.
Pick the video model for the ad
You choose the model per ad in the video studio's model picker; Veo 3.1 is the default. For UGC, speech decides most of it:
| Model | Use it for | Speech | Frame and length | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 | A creator saying a line, with room sound | Speaks the quoted line; audio is always on | 9:16 or 16:9 · 4, 6 or 8 s | 640 for 4 s, 1,280 for 8 s |
| HappyHorse 1.1 | Feed ads in 4:5 | Speaks quoted dialogue; no voice choice | Nine ratios incl. 4:5 and 9:16 · 3 to 15 s | 280 for 5 s |
| Seedance 2.0 | Hands-only demos from a product photo | Lip-sync is best-effort; strong on sound effects | 9:16, 1:1, 3:4 and more (no 4:5) · 4 to 15 s | 105 for 5 s |
| Wan 2.7 | A real photo speaking your recorded voiceover | Lip-syncs to your WAV or MP3, 2 to 30 s | Follows the photo · 2 to 15 s | 200 for 5 s |
| Act app + saved AI actor | One face across many variants | The engine speaks the line; no custom voice | 9:16 by default · 6 or 10 s on the default tier | 57 for 6 s, 85 for 10 s |
Seedance 2.0 is the UGC trap. It rejects any input image that contains a face, AI-generated faces included, so a creator photo fails before it renders. Write Seedance creators in words only, and keep its image inputs to products and hands.
To keep one face across a batch, save an AI actor to reuse one face and run the variants in the Act app. Plans hold 3 actors on Hobby, 10 on Pro, 25 on Studio and an unlimited number on Agency. Act bills a 15-credit scene plus 7 credits a second on its default tier.
Hook openers for the first two seconds
The first two seconds decide whether anyone watches the third. Open on a movement or a sound, and put the first words right at the start, then cut the clip onto the front of a longer ad.

Unboxing and first impressions
Unboxings run on sound as much as sight: tape, cardboard, a lid that clicks. Veo 3.1 writes those sounds in when you name them. HappyHorse 1.1 is the pick when the ad runs 4:5 in the feed.
-
The lid click
Veo 3.1 9:16 · 8 s · 1,280 crVertical handheld phone video at a sunny kitchen table. Big box, three shots
Seedance 2.0 9:16 · 8 s · 168 crShot 1: a young man on a living-room rug opens a large delivery box. Shot 2: close-up as he lifts out a self-cleaning litter box. Shot 3: he laughs at the camera and says: "Big box. Worth it." Handheld phone look. Audio: cardboard rustling. Keep it subtitle-free, no watermark.Text to video, so a person is fine on Seedance; keep the line short, as its lip-sync is best-effort.
Problem, then solution
Show the problem, then the product fixing it, in one clip. Veo 3.1 takes timed beats, Google's own technique, so the switch lands where you want it. On Seedance 2.0, write Shot 1 and Shot 2 without seconds, because ByteDance says its timing control is unstable.

Founder to camera
A face presented as your founder has to be your founder. The two Wan 2.7 cards animate your founder's own photo in time with a voiceover they recorded. The other two are stand-ins for timing the line and framing the shot before the real take.
-
Your founder's photo, your founder's voice
Wan 2.7 10 s · 720p · 400 crShe reads the line to the camera in time with the voiceover, pausing once to tap the serum bottle on the bench, then smiles at the end. Chest-high framing, the camera locked off at eye level.Attach your founder's photo and a WAV or MP3 of them reading the line, 2 to 30 seconds long. Keep the clip no longer than the audio, or the end runs silent.
-

Keep it subtitle-free, no watermark.A blocking draft at 480p: check the framing and the length of the line, then run the final with your founder's photo and voice on Wan 2.7.
Hands-only demos
With no face on screen there is no likeness question and no Seedance rejection, so this is where Seedance 2.0 can work from your real product photo. Name the product with its image number, and keep the photo free of people.
-

Shot 2: the same fridge in the same framing, now with neat rows of matching containers. Audio: the fridge hum and a door seal. Keep it subtitle-free, no watermark.
Mirror and routine monologues
A routine gives the creator something to do while they talk, which keeps a monologue watchable. Keep the line to one or two short sentences and let the steps carry the rest.
-
Serum in the bathroom mirror
Veo 3.1 9:16 · 8 s · 1,280 crVertical phone video filmed in a bathroom mirror, the phone in her hand. A woman with damp hair wipes steam off the glass, smooths serum onto her cheeks and says, "Serum first, then sunscreen, then coffee. In that order." Ambient noise: a bathroom fan hum. -

One creator, many variants
Once a creator works, keep the face and change the line. Build the creator once as an AI actor, then run the same scene in the Act app with a new hook each time. Act engines speak the dialogue in your prompt, and a 10-second take on the default tier costs 85 credits.
Open the Act app to run these with a saved actor

Label AI UGC as AI
Label every AI UGC ad as AI. TikTok's ads policy says undisclosed AI-generated ads get rejected or restricted, and the FTC's Endorsement Guides reach an endorser who only appears to be a person.
Keep the script honest too. An AI creator describing results nobody had is what turns an ad into a deceptive endorsement, so the lines on this page describe what the product does on screen, not a personal before and after. Veo 3.1 marks every clip with Google's invisible SynthID watermark, but viewers can't see that, so it is no substitute for a label.
Rules differ by platform and by country, and this page is not legal advice. Our guide to when AI UGC has to be disclosed covers each one.
Run a UGC ad prompt in Playcut
Paste the card into the Playcut video studio (or the Act app for the variant cards), and then:
- Switch the model picker to the model the card names.
- Set the frame and length from the chip: 9:16, or 4:5 on HappyHorse 1.1.
- Attach only what the card names: a product photo for Seedance, your founder's photo and audio file for Wan.
- Generate. A failed or cancelled job gives back the credits held at submit.
Hobby's 500 monthly credits don't cover one 4-second Veo 3.1 clip (640 credits). Draft the idea on HappyHorse, Seedance or Act, then spend Veo credits on the final take.
Save the lines that work to your Prompts library, and type / at the start of an empty prompt box to reuse one. For the whole workflow from brief to export, see Playcut for UGC ads. For non-ad jobs such as B-roll and loops, use the AI video prompts sorted by job.
