AI UGC Pricing Index
What 12 AI UGC and actor-video platforms actually charge — entry price, metering model, free tier, and published per-video cost, live-verified. The catch buyers miss: these platforms meter output in different units, so the sticker prices don't compare directly.
Why the monthly prices don't compare
Three metering models are in play. Per finished video (Arcads, ~$11/clip). Per credit — where a credit buys a generation or a minute, and the credit-to-video ratio varies by model (most platforms here). Per video minute (Synthesia).
A $29 plan giving 600 credits and a $29 plan giving 10 minutes are not the same deal. Cost per usable video also depends on how many takes are throwaway — that is a lab-measured metric in the AI Actor Benchmark, not a list price.

Sources: vendor pricing pages (live 2026-07-17) and Playcut's published credit math. Creatify, MakeUGC, Argil, Akool, Topview and Hedra were re-checked 2026-08-21. Akool's entry price comes from a 2026-06-11 in-app plan-data pull — a real but non-public source — and Argil's figures date to the same check, before its pricing page stopped rendering. Playcut is the vendor and is marked as such; "published per-video cost" is printed only where the vendor discloses the math.
What the index shows
Entry price spans $9 to $110/mo. Playcut is the lowest generative entry at $9; Higgsfield and Hedra sit at $15 and Topview at $16 (promo). Arcads is the outlier at ~$110/mo with no live pricing page to confirm it, and Akool publishes no price at all.
Only a handful publish a real per-video number. Playcut, Synthesia, Topview and Hedra disclose enough to compute a per-clip cost. The rest bill in credits without stating how many usable videos a credit bucket yields.
Cheapest sticker isn't cheapest output. Synthesia's $1.45/30s list looks unbeatable, but it produces talking-head video, not UGC-native ads — a format mismatch that makes the raw number misleading for ad buyers.
Four platforms obscure pricing. Arcads (404 page), Akool ($0 placeholder), Argil (prices never render past "Loading plans…") and Higgsfield (un-renderable page) all make list pricing hard to verify first-party — a transparency signal worth weighing.
Pricing FAQ
Which AI UGC platform is cheapest? +
By entry price for the cheapest generative tier, Playcut is lowest at $9/mo, followed by Higgsfield and Hedra at $15/mo and Topview at $16/mo (promo). Akool's own pricing page publishes no price at all, so it is left out of that ranking. But entry price alone is misleading: platforms meter output differently — per finished video, per credit, or per minute — so a low sticker can cost more per usable clip.
Why can't I just compare the monthly prices? +
Because the metering models are not the same unit. Arcads bills per finished video (about $11 a clip), HeyGen and most others bill credits per minute or per generation, and Synthesia bills flat video minutes. A $29 plan that yields 600 credits and a $29 plan that yields 10 minutes are not comparable without knowing how many usable videos each produces.
How much does a 30-second AI UGC video actually cost? +
Where vendors publish the math: Playcut's voiced 30-second actor clip is about $15.66 at list, Synthesia's talking-head is about $1.45 per 30s (but not UGC-native), and Topview blends to roughly $0.50–0.72 per video on Pro. Many platforms don't publish a per-video number at all. True cost per usable video also depends on how many takes are throwaway — that is a lab-measured metric in our benchmark, not a list price.
Which platforms hide their pricing? +
Four make list pricing hard to verify. Arcads' pricing page returns a 404, so its numbers exist only in third-party write-ups. Akool's page renders every paid tier as '$0/seat/mo' and Argil's renders a permanent 'Loading plans…', both injecting prices client-side. Higgsfield's official page is an un-renderable single-page app; Argil and Akool were re-checked 2026-08-21, Arcads and Higgsfield on 2026-07-17.
Do free tiers actually let you generate videos? +
Not always. Captions' free tier includes zero AI credits, so it edits and captions but generates nothing. HeyGen, Synthesia, Creatify, Topview, Higgsfield and Akool offer real (if limited, usually watermarked) generative free tiers. Argil and MakeUGC offer only time-boxed trials — 5-day and 3-day — and Arcads offers nothing free at all.
